So... during the day (Monday-Friday) I
work at Planet Fitness in Dartmouth, MA.
Now I don't know if any of y'all know about
the twice a month things that Planet does, but on one Friday of each month we have "Pizza Friday" and then on one Tuesday of every month we have "Bagel Tuesday"... SO! I was thinking what could be some fun ideas and started shootin' em off to my boss (God Bless her for putting up with my dumb ass).
Here's what I think would be a fun idea.. LETS HAVE SHOT SUNDAYS! every Sunday each person who walks through the door has to take a shot and then go work out! COME ON! Tell me that wouldn't be
1) HYSTERICAL and 2) just awesome. Needless to say, my boss shut the idea down mad quick, but I'm still fighting for it.
That or OH! FIREBALL FRIDAYS, or TEQUILA THURSDAYS! ... the possibilities are endless honestly.
"You need to be this." "You have to always look your best." "You can't talk about that." "Even if you are what you say, don't share it with the world." "Do you even care about what you look like?" "You must always be positive." "Don't post that." "That's too personal." "What do you think the worlds going to think of that?"
I hear these run through my head all through every single day. And do you know what I've realized? These are not actually expectations of society, these are limitations. By caring so much about the worlds view of yourself or withholding who you truly are from those around you you are actually giving up major parts of yourself. And honestly, in return, you are becoming a miserable carbon copy of every other miserable human being who is too afraid of the worlds perspective of who they are instead of just loving who they really are. Having recognition and acceptance of one's self is such a rarity in this world we live in, as everyone is so beyond focused on fitting an unrealistic mold created by the world around us. And as a result, we miss out of the greatest gift we can achieve.... True self worth and ultimately happiness.
I love people. All people. I fall in love with who a person is, not with what they have. I personally think women are the most beautiful creatures filled with grace and sensuality. And yes I am ATTRACTED to women. But I also love men. I love everyone and I don't think the world is as black and white as some people may believe.
I also think there are so many who settle for something as a result of what society has to say about it. If you're a woman and you're attracted to other women that's a beautiful thing, same with men. If you're a man and LOVE another man then that TOO is beautiful. For I believe that when love is found we must cherish it, not fear what anyone has to say or thinks about it. Love is love and I'm happy that pride is becoming more and more recognized and valued.
I am Jillian Jensen and I am pansexual. Love me or hate me I genuinely do not care because I see people for the beautiful souls they are, fall in love with the hearts they possess and appreciate them for all of the qualities that make each individual unique and incredibly special.
Love is love.
Have you ever met someone who just makes life vibrant? Someone that has an intoxicating energy that you simply can't get enough of? Someone who gives you a different perceptive on something that without you may have lost sight of the person you truly are? Someone who enables you to see the beautiful colors of your soul that you thought you had lost? Someone that you didn't even know you needed but after that first time you met knew you could no longer live with out? If not, know that someone is out there. For I too never believed that someone such as this existed until I met him. And for that someone I am forever grateful.
Today I go back to a Monday through Friday job ON TOP of my ridiculously exstensive singing schedule. Why?
Probably because I'm clinically insane.
More so because I have goals.
These goals involve taking over the world. Just kidding, but they do require funds. So, workaholics simply find more work.
But I am actually very excited about today, which is probably why I couldn't sleep a wink last night.
You see I just love having a purpose, and who knows maybe this job won't work out at all... Maybe I'll hate going from work to work everyday. But I've never been one NOT to at least give something a shot.
Luckily it's something I've already done, and I know I actually quite enjoy as I'm very much a people person. So here we go day one at Planet Fitness in Dartmouth. May my fitness addiction live on.
I'll keep you posted to let you know what sleep deprivation is truly like, but seriously... I'm pretty excited. Woot Woot ALL the savings. haha
